After almost a year in Tottenham, Kristina Records will soon return to Hackney in east London.
Kristina Records closed their Stoke Newington store last year, before moving temporarily to multi-purpose venue The Cause in Tottenham.
Announcing the news on Instagram yesterday, Kristina Records founder Jason Spinks said that the new store at Well Street near Hackney Central "will be up and running ASAP".

While Friday saw the likes of Bicep, Ben UFO, Hunee, Ricardo Villalobos B2B Craig Richards and Peach, Saturday welcomed Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, tINI, Richie Hawtin and Tale Of Us to the secluded stages of Junction 2.
After solo performances from both Maceo Plex and Tale Of Us, the techno titans came together for a monumental B2B to close the main stage.

In the late ’80s, hardware samplers were becoming affordable, and sampling opened up a new world of musical possibilities for Renegade Soundwave (and many other artists).
‘The Phantom’ was made on rudimentary electronic equipment. As well as the aforementioned Akai S900 sampler, Briottet played the bassline on a Juno 106 synth, mixing it with a sine wave sound for extra beef. There was a Moog Prodigy too for the whooshing effects, but crucial to the record’s distinctive character was the Korg DDD1 drum machine, an underused but — in Briottet’s opinion — powerful bit of kit for altering and condensing drum hits.
A new book takes readers inside London’s independent record stores.
Logically entitled 'Vinyl London: A Guide to Independent Record Shops', the publication has been written by Tom Greig and contains original photography by Sam Mellish.
60 vinyl emporiums are featured, including shops, stalls, fairs and cafes in the UK capital. Phonica Records, Independent Label Market, Spiritland, Alan's and Crypt of the Wizard are all included.
Optimo are set to take over London's Phonox for four dates this summer.
The residency will kick off on July 12th and run each Friday until August 2nd. Three of the dates will see the duo take over to play all night long, while the final date will be devoted to celebrating the 10th anniversary of their label, Optimo Music.
The Glaswegian duo last played the club back in October, and their all-night sets this time around will see them play for six hours.

Our friends at BULLDOG Gin have announced a new partnership with Field Day Festival. Taking place between 7th-9th June 2019, at The Drumsheds in Enfield, Field Day brings together some of the most exciting artists from across the dance music spectrum.
The venue – new for 2019 – marks a change in direction for the London festival, which debuted in 2007. The Drumsheds boasts four interlinking warehouses that will allow for increased sound levels and extended late-night programming.
“When I rack my brain to think of famous South Asian names in mainstream music,” says Nabihah Iqbal, “the only two I can think of would be MIA and Zayn Malik. That’s it.” Sitting outside of Peckham’s Rye Wax, Iqbal is about to DJ at the first edition of No ID, a new party created by More Time Records founder and DJ Ahad Elley, better known as Ahadadream.
A new 10,000 capacity venue, The Drumsheds, will be opening in north London this June.
The Drumsheds will open in Meridian Water, an old gas works next to Tottenham Marshes, as part of Field Day festival. The weekender, which announced its move from Brockwell Park to its new home last November, takes from place from 7th - 9th June and will feature sets from Actress, Leon Vynehall, HAAi, The Black Madonna, Mall Grab, Skee Mask, Seth Troxler, Modeselektor and many more.
A big part of Holland’s week would be stocking up on her vinyl collection. “Heidi [then working at Phonica] was my record dealer. She’d be really kind to me and pick me out loads and save me stuff. She introduced me to a lot, actually.” Many of the records that Holland played back then are still in her collection. It’s the music she describes as stemming from that, “breakbeat rave sound, melting with techno and house music. And obviously a lot of bass.”
