Ableton continue to aid new music producers with the launch of their latest website, which is a free online resource that teaches the basics of music production.

Real songs are used in the lessons, including Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies’ and Bob Marley’s ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, whilst there is also a section where users can put their new found knowledge to use and create their own tracks. This can then be exported to Ableton Live in order to make finishing touches.

Ableton’s Loop Summit for music-makers is back for its third year from 10th through 12th November 2017 at Funkhaus Berlin.

As per last year, Loop will be back at the amazing Funkhaus venue, built in the '50s as the broadcast headquarters for the GDR’s state radio.

Registration for tickets is open to interested parties now with student ticketing and subsidised ticketing available.

Korg have confirmed the launch date for their Gadget production software for Mac OS.

It will be released on 28th February and sold via Korg’s new Korg Shop, however the cost of it might surprise potential owners, coming in at a introductory price of £159 then rising up to £240 - bearing in mind that the original iOS app clocks in at around £40. This makes it quite a pricey offering, pitching it in the price range of other major DAWs.

Gemini has announced two forthcoming controllers, the SDJ-4000 and the MAS-1, that aim to take the next step in digital DJing and live performance.

A two-deck, four-channel USB controller, the SDJ-4000 (pictured above) is designed to remove any need for a computer in the booth. Through its hi-res 7" colour screen, the controller allows users to analyse tracks, synchronize effects to the beat and create a database of music from scratch.

Ableton has announced the line-up for its hugely popular three-day Loop event which will be taking place in Berlin from Friday 4th November to Sunday 6th November.

Announced to appear at the event will be legendary producer Lee Scratch Perry, who will be talking about his work with Bob Marley and The Wailers.

He’ll be joined by the likes of pianist Suzanne Ciani, Moritz von Oswalk, Jazzy Jeff, Morton Subotnick, Daedelus, Sougwen Chung and many more.
