Ableton has announced that the latest version of their popular music-making software – Live 11 – will be available from February 23rd. Announced late last year, Live 11 has been in beta testing period since November, when we first previewed it in our First Look video below. The new version brings with it some long-awaited features such as MPE support and audio comping, as well as new devices like Hybrid Reverb and Spectral Resonator.
Ableton has updated its music-making software Live to version 11. The new version features some long-awaited additions, including comping, MPE support, linked tracks, new devices and tweaks to existing favourites, CPU meters per channel and more. Comping will be a hallelujah moment for many Live users who’ve had to move to different DAWs in order to record and edit vocals. It’s not just for vocals though, new Take Lanes let Live users load any samples or recording into them and highlight sections of the audio you want to use.

Ableton have extended the trial period on their music-making software Live from 30 to 90 days. The extended trial period offers the full version of the software, including saving and exporting your creations. They're the latest in a string of companies to make some of their software free during the extended lockdown period for many around the globe, due to the coronavirus crisis. Ableton has launched a new Max for Live device called FlexGroove. The new device is designed to 'push and pull' MIDI, off the usual rigid quantised grid, transition between time signatures and add more unconventional swing to your pattern. It was designed by classical violinist and software developer Martin von Frantzius "to support his experimentations in microtiming, polyrhythms, and tempo shifting".
Ableton LOOP conference has been postponed until April 2021 due to the current threat from the COVID-19 virus. The German company said "We are deeply saddened to be forced to take this step but consider it essential in the face of the ongoing viral outbreak, and the guidance we have received from authorities."
Ableton's LOOP summit has announced the first speakers for its return to Berlin in April 2020. After spending one year in LA, and having an off-year in 2019, the popular creative conference curated by the even more popular makers of Live is upping sticks from Funkhaus and moving to Silent Green Kulturquartier and the adjoining contemporary art spaces Savvy, Ebensperger Rhomberg and Luxoom Lab on April 24th to 26th.
Ableton's LOOP Summit returns to Berlin in 2020, having spent a year in LA in 2018. Registration is now open for the conference, taking place at a new venue Silent Green Kulturquartier and the adjoining contemporary art spaces Savvy, Ebensperger Rhomberg and Luxoom Lab on April 24th to 26th. Ableton are offering 80 subsidised passes which creators and music makers can apply for here, alongside Student, Summit and Youth passes.

Ableton have launched a new set of plugins called CV Tools. The new devices – which are a free download for Ableton Live 10 Suite users – allow you to control modular equipment by sending CV and Gate signals directly from the output of a compatible soundcard.
