NET GALA will make their debut on Shangai’s SVBKVLT this month ‘신파 SHINPA’ EP.
The Seoul-based artist, who is a regular DJ in the city’s Cakeshop club and member of the Shade Seoul LGTBTQ+ collective, follows their appearance on SVBKVLT's 'Cache 02' compilation with five new cuts of experimental club music inspired by their research into traditional Shinpageuk (신파극) theatre.
Premiere: Osheyack & Nahash ‘Less Than A Pound Of Flesh’
Shanghai label SVBKVLT will release a new collaborative EP from Osheyack and Nahash in April.
Both artists have appeared on SVBKVLT before, and have helped shape the label’s identity as a platform for intensely rhythmic, experimental electronic and club music. Joining forces now on ‘Club Apathy’, the pair have cooked up four dancefloor-focussed cuts of propulsive drums and abstract sound design. It’s explosive stuff, and each track detonates right on the sweet spot between harsh, hypnotic groove and avant-garde eclecticism.

SVBKVLT has announced the debut album from Hyph11e, 'Aperture'.
The feted Chinese experimental club label will deliver the Beijing-born, Shanghai-based producer's inaugural LP on 16th October. According to pre-release notes, the record is inspired by the idea of holes. "On one hand, they are the driven force for evolution, on the other hand, holes are also the layer of scab that signals growth," the text reads. "Without tearing, cutting and gluing, we cannot create or eliminate a hole. Topologists use the number of holes to distinguish geometric objects."

STORM FESTIVAL CHINA LINES UP TIESTO & A-TRAK
Set to kick off on 3rd and 4th October in Shanghai, followed by Shenzhen on 21st and 22nd November, Budweiser Storm Festival is China's favourite EDM event.
The brainchild of trance-turned-EDM king Tiesto and China's own Jane Zhang, the festival will feature a track penned by the pair as its signature tune, the euphorically titled, 'Change Your World'.
Poll Clubs 2016: MYST SHANGHAI
If you need proof that China is an ever-rising force in the global dance market, look no further than the ever-higher climbing Myst (which stands for Moving You, Stunning Trip). Located in Shanghai, the club is mindful of the world’s perception of the city, which tends to be nostalgic and rose-tinted, smoky and opulent.
As such the club is resplendent with the sort of features you just don't get at clubs over in The West: chief amongst these are a vast, back-lit water curtain that flows endlessly off to one side of the main room. As well as that, VIPs are catered for with no fewer than seven private party rooms and there are also lots of 3D mirror walls throughout the place.
The music is just as showy, and often relies on trance and EDM mega-stars for its kicks, whilst a glut of state-of-the-art technological features, lights and lasers, as well as tons and tons of confetti, often add drama to each party occasion. The last year has seen Tiesto pack the place out, Fedde Le Grand get people’s hands up and Steve Aoki doing whatever it is he does these days.
