New rave garms?
Soundsuits are the latest fashion item inspired by sound and created by American artist, Nick Cave.
Designed to compliment his abstract dance performances, Cave says he fashioned the outfits to question identity and stereo types, and says his garments are meant to represent sound as fashion.
“When I was inside a suit, you couldn’t tell if I was a woman or man; if I was black, red, green or orange; from Haiti or South Africa," says Cave.
"I was no longer Nick. I was a shaman of sorts.”
The Soundsuits consist of a wide variety of materials and are designed to make noise as the wearer moves.
