Watch a trailer for the new Janet Jackson documentary
The four hour film will air in two parts next year

Pop superstar Janet Jackson has unveiled the trailer to a forthcoming documentary, 'JANET', which charts her life and career to date.
The four hour film will be broadcast in two parts on the A+E and Lifetime networks in January 2022. The release date coincides with the 40th anniversary of Jackson's 1982 self-titled debut album.
Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey both appear in the first-look clip, which also features experts from Jackson's deeply personal 1986 single, 'Control'. The documentary is directed by Benjamin Hirsch, whose previous credits include episodes of British mini-series 'The Bridge', and two separate Discovery Channel reality shows featuring Idris Elba.
Last month DJ Mag published a roundup of the ten best new dance music documentaries, which followed on from a list of nine classic hip hop documentaries. More recently, a short film looking at the 1990s warehouse rave scene in Newcastle, UK, was released online.
