Point Blank provide a Beginner’s Guide to making music on Ableton
DJ Ravine and Saytek give us the lowdown…
It’s no secret that music production is a task fraught with difficulty. Thankfully, a number of online tutorials can assist in this regard, and this video from DJ Ravine and Saytek (in collaboration with Point Blank), offers a fine ‘beginners guide to making a track using Ableton’.
During the course of the 17-minute video, long-time DJ Mag favourite and top drawer live act Saytek focuses on the many tools that are freely available to demonstrate how to start a track. Manipulating edited sample packs, he starts off with the kick, before quickly graduating to hi-hats and claps and eventually completing his basic loop with a synth lead.
A relatively brief guide to setting yourself up on Ableton, the video should nonetheless be considered essential viewing for anyone considering a software-led music career. Be sure to check out the video below, while further information can be found on Point Blank’s website here.
