Software and hardware company IK Multimedia has announced four new plugins designed to emulate classic TASCAM tape hardware. The models are officially certified from TASCAM and focus on everything from the high-end reel-to-reel tape to portable cassette recorders that were a super popular home-recording solution from 1984 onwards.
The models focus on A-1600 MKII reel-to-reel two-track mastering tape machine, the A-3340S which was a much-used unit for rock bands in the ’70s, the TASCAM 388 eight-channel mixing console and eight track tape machine in one and the PORTA ONE MINISTUDIO, the cassette tape machine still popular today.
All four plugins are part of IK’s T-RackS platform, but can also run as VST, AUs and AAX plugs. The plugins are available for an introductory price of €129 and will rise to €199.
They can also be purchased separately for €99 each.
