DJ MAG IBIZA'S GUIDE TO THE WHITE ISLE
The best places to eat, sleep & rave in Ibiza acccording to DJs and staff...
DJ Mag Ibiza breaks down the best places to eat, sleep and rave on the White Isle this summer, favoured by DJs, locals and clued-up travellers. Best be getting that map out — here’s the places you won’t want to miss...
No trip to Ibiza would be complete without a stop-off at Talamanca Beach’s famous Fish Shack. This place does exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a shack that serves up the catch of the day for lunch and dinner, most of which is caught off the rocks on which the rickety restaurant sits.
Expect: plastic table-cloths, ultra-friendly service and one hell of a view, with prices clocking in at around the 30 euro mark for a main and a brew. DJ Mag Ibiza has spotted everyone from Do Not Sleep boss Darius Syrossian to Japanese DJ sensation Hito dining at the Fish Shack — trust us, this is an unmissable, quintessentially Ibizan experience off the usual beaten track.
There’s a wealth of luxury villas on the White Isle, but few can compare to the panoramic views and home-away-from-home service at Puig Redo. Featuring countless sprawling bedrooms and enough white linen and fine art to sink a battleship, the villa looks out over an impressive 25-metre pool, plus an immaculate tennis court and sprawling terraced gardens.
DIYnamic boss Solomun hosted his closing party after-party at Puig Redo last year, that saw the much-loved DJ spin for almost two days straight (yikes!) and set-up a nourishing juice bar for hard-partying ravers. There’s also a private club-space decked out with the latest Pioneer kit exclusively for guests of the villa to enjoy, as well as regular rave-ups in association with lush London nightclub Tape London hosted throughout the season.
If you’re a fan of sailing the high seas then you can’t go past Cirque De La Nuit’s rowdy boat parties, sailing four times a week from Terminal 1 bar next to Sankeys. If you’re looking for a leisurely day-trip, this is NOT the boat for you — Cirque De La Nuit is hands-in-the-air house hits from start to finish. Best bit? There’s unlimited drinks on board with everything from cocktails to ice-cold beers on the menu, plus the boat halts for a swim-stop halfway through its journey.
As night-time falls, industry bods and clued-up party kids all flock to the DC-10 dancefloor — expect to see everyone from Steve Lawler to Jackmaster raving it up in the crowd each week. It’s kicking off every Monday night with Circo Loco throughout the season, whilst UK ravers favour the familiar sounds of Jamie Jones and the Hot Creations crew every Wednesday for Paradise.
It’s the morning after and you haven’t been to bed — but there’s no rest for the wicked when on the White Isle! Soothe your sore head with a trip to the Experimental Beach Club to sip on a selection of supreme cocktails, including the venue’s signature squid ink martini.
After chugging down on a few perfectly-mixed cocktails, head straight to Nikki Beach’s Sunday Brunch event if you’re feeling peckish. At 75 euros a head it’s a little on the pricey side, but there’s unlimited prosecco on tap until 3pm — ain’t nobody going to argue with that!
