CockTail d'Amore will celebrate a decade of parties and releases this month with a new compilation and book, ‘Nothing Matters When We're Dancing Vol.10’.
The legendary Berlin party and collective started life as a DIY party run by Discodromo in 2009, moving between clubs to illegal venues across the city, before finding a more stable home in 2014 at the Griessmuehle club. CockTail d'Amore soon launched a label, which has gone on to release stellar EPs from the likes of Kris Baha, Luv Jam, Sfire, Lord of the Isles and Powder.
‘Nothing Matters When We're Dancing Vol.10’ features tracks from Tornado Wallace, Mascaras & Powder, DJ Mag On Cue selector Bézier, CPI and more, and aims to capture the essence of the "long hours of music and dances, countless wild encounters, occasional hook-ups and many sleepless nights."
According to an official statement, the compilation and accompanying book represent "the guiding aspiration of Cocktail to be a utopian sex-positive safer space where people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexualities are truly free to express themselves". The compilation is divided into three sections, each being named after one of the room’s moods, from the Cosmic Hole to the “sleazy bangers of the Main Room, and the kaleidoscopic surges of the Garden”.
Entitled 10 - 10 Years of Music, Friendships, Flirts, and Fun, the book will comprise of memories in visual and written form, archiving images, video stills, stories, anecdotes and poems from CockTail d'Amore's colourful history.
All revenue collected from the sales of the book and compilation will be donated to three LGBTQI+ non-profit NGOs based in Berlin and Germany, with a focus on refugees, indigenous people and people of colour.
