Two sides of the same incredible coin, this latest EP from the irrepressible Sam Shepherd once again goes to show what a gloriously unique and talented chap he is. The first new material since the release of ‘Eleania’, lead track ‘Kuiper’ speaks of a penchant for dense, complex, free-thinking jazz; whilst ‘For Marmish Pt II’ (a continuation of the LP track of the same name) belies an entirely less intense side to his music, with a beautiful, laid-back, Rhodes-inspired ode to Herbie Hancock.
