The Warehouse Project
Manc colossus announces last ever season at Store Street and, true to form, it’s MEGA
There are few things on the UK clubbing circuit bigger than The Warehouse Project. A pumping season of diverse electronics covering the last three months of every year, it has welcomed everyone from dancefloor heavyweights to the scale of Richie Hawtin, Villalobos and Modeselektor and most wanted starlets of the underground such as Hudson Mohawke, SBTRKT and Mount Kimbie under some filth-ridden arches underneath Manchester’s Piccadilly Station every year since kicking off in 2006.
This year, however, The WHP has announced that this year will be its last at Store Street and is currently keeping schtum about future plans. Instead, it is, quite understandably, blabbing at the top of its voice about the 250+ artists announced so far for this, the ultimate Store Street Warehouse Project. The events penned so far include Visionquest, Annie Mac presents, We Love, Boy Noize Records, Hospitality, Garude, Lights Out, Jamie xx presents, Cocoon, SMD Delicatessen, Desolat, R&S, Chibuku, Crosstown Records and 20 Years of Pete Tong. Perhaps most impressive, though, is the already sold out seventeen hour farewell to Store Street party kicking off at midday on New Year’s Eve 2011 with Maya Jane Coles, Jamie Jones many more plus a very special headline guest.
