NEW LABEL: FACELESS RECORDINGS
Climbers to open Faceless Recordings with soulful house gem
When My Favorite Robot/Lucid Flow regular Silky dropped us a podcast last month, he let slip that he, Climbers and Barber were forming a new label, Faceless Recordings.
Since followed a period that no doubt drew blood, sweat and tears (of joy?) in the studio, including some fortuitous A&Ring, and now evidence of the first release has surfaced.
The imprint's first release is from Mexican duo Climbers (Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal), who’ve previously appeared on Culprit, Lower East and Noir Music 2 despite only a year in the game.
The original (out in April) is a deep soulful cut 'Left Your Love' (stream below). Featuring the dulcet tones of Yasmine Azaiez on vocals, the full package is one hell of a bumper, added value coming from remixes by the label's other heads (Silky & Barber) as well as a grand-spanking re-edit from none other than the godfather of house, Frankie Knuckles.
If that isn't enough of a splash, the label have also donated an exclusive remix to the DJ Mag cause, which we'll drop as a free download two weeks before the release.
